A Beginner’s Guide To Vaping

Vaping has been backed as being a healthier alternative to smoking and, because you’re still able to get your nicotine fix, it has really taken centre stage over the past few years.

With more and more people switching to vaping, this lifestyle choice hosts a wide variety of people from novices to cloud chasers.

Because vaping is attracting new recruits every day, we thought we’d put together a vaping guide for beginners. There’s a lot of information out there on vaping, but we’re going to simplify it here to show you how easy it really is to ditch smoking for vaping.

There are many different ways to vape but here we’re just going to cover the basics.

What is vaping?

Vaping is the name given to the act of inhaling and exhaling the vapour produced by an e-cigarette.

Why should you start vaping?

As mentioned previously, vaping is a much healthier way to get your nicotine intake than the smoking of traditional cigarettes, although you don’t have to use nicotine when you vape – there are plenty of e-liquids out there containing 0mg of nicotine.

Similarly, with vaping you can reduce your intake of nicotine as much or as little as you like; you could even work your way down to vaping without nicotine!  It’s no secret that smoking is bad for you; it’s bad for your heart, lungs, and overall health, whereas vaping has been proven to be a healthier alternative.

If you take up vaping, those close to you won’t have to engage in passive smoking and your clothes won’t smell anymore! In a matter of days, your senses of taste and smell will improve and, in a matter of months, your lungs will start to get better – not to mention how much money you’ll be saving.

Although the initial cost of vaping may seem to be a bit pricey (you’re probably looking at around £45), you will be able to save so much money in the long run that you’ll be able to treat yourself in ways which you may not have been able to whilst smoking.

What will you need?

When you first start vaping, you really don’t need a lot of equipment to get you going. There are three main things that you’ll need:

  1. A vaping kit – you can get vaping kits from the high street or online and there are plenty for sale in our vaping kit section, encompassing different devices and price ranges. A vape kit usually involves a device, batteries, a charger, and sometimes even an e-liquid.
  2. E-liquid – from kryptonite to strawberry muffin, there are a plethora of e-liquid flavours on the market, ensuring that vaping can be as varied as you like. It’s the e-liquid that turns into vapour so investing in a few good ones before you start vaping is crucial. E-liquids come in varying levels of nicotine and PG/VG ratios. You can browse our full range of e-liquids here.
  3. A desire to pack in smoking – you may feel as though you’ll never get around to quitting smoking but vaping is such an effective way to do so. There are so many reasons to quit smoking and vaping makes that challenge boundlessly easier.

It really is as simple as that! Although it may seem daunting at first, making the change from smoking to vaping couldn’t be much easier. All you need is the relevant equipment and the desire to stop smoking. If you had some questions on how to start vaping, we hope we answered them in our beginner’s guide!
