If you’re a newbie to the vaping scene you might have seen your fair share of terms from vendors or other vapers. If you’re tired of feeling left out and want to know what they all mean so that you can use them as well, take a look at the guide we compiled below!
The heating components in an e-cig. They turn the nicotine solution in the e-cig into vapour and should be replaced every few weeks.
A type of advanced personal vaporiser that is shaped like a box and can come in mechanical or variable configurations.
Wrapped wire attached to the atomiser. It heats up when you’re using your e-cig. The wicks in and around the coil become hot and vaporise the juice, providing you with a perfect inhale! The Alien Clapton Pre-Made Coils 0.45ohm are a great example of this.
The mouthpiece. It comes in different shapes, sizes and colours and allows you to experience delicious e-juices.
A phenomenon that occurs when too much e-juice is added to the atomiser and turns your vape ‘gurgley’.
This happens when the coil is glowing in certain spots, which means it hasn’t been wrapped evenly. The result is often a dry hit.
This term means milliampere per hour, and the higher the rating, the longer your battery will last.
This is a unit of measurement that reads the electrical resistance in atomisers. Lower ohms translate into hotter and thicker vapour, while higher values mean cooler vapes.
Propylene glycol. A mixture that is one of the main ingredients in your e-juice. The higher the ratio, the stronger the throat kick.
Measured in ohms. The lower the resistance, the lower the voltage needed to heat the coil.
A tank capable of using low-resistance coils. They require more battery power but are a step up from beginner tanks, as they provide more flavour and vapour.
When the flavour truly hits you. That little kick at the back of your throat that means you’re inhaling an amazing concoction.
An e-cig that allows you to change the voltage setting, improving flavour and vapour production.
Typically made from silica, stainless steel mesh, organic cotton or ceramic. This component holds and delivers your e-juice to the coil in a controlled manner to avoid flooding.
